About the campaign

During the campaign window, LifeDirect is running a one off prize draw on top of our standard cashback offer.

LifeDirect will give you a cashback of 20% of your first year's premiums on eligible policies. This is our standard cashback and continues to apply to every eligible applicant during the campaign window.

In addition, 10 randomly drawn winners will receive a cashback of 100% of their first year's premiums instead of 20%, capped at $3,000 per winner.

These terms apply to all eligible applicants during the campaign window. The 100% cashback replaces the standard 20% cashback for the 10 winners. Winners are not eligible for both. All other accepted applicants continue to receive the standard 20% cashback.

Once your policy has been in place for at least 13 months, we will send you a lump sum cashback. The cashback needs to be registered via your MyLifeDirect login. MyLifeDirect is set up once your policy is underway. The payment will be processed in the calendar month following the eligibility criteria being met, provided you have registered your cashback via MyLifeDirect within 13 months of your policy getting underway.

Please note there may be situations where payment is late that is outside our control. If this is the case, the payment will be made as soon as practicable and without delay.

Example. A policy issued on 1 August 2026 would be eligible for a cashback after 1 September 2027 if it is still in force, not in arrears, and LifeDirect is still the servicing adviser. The cashback would be paid in October 2027.

Who is eligible

To be eligible for any cashback under this campaign (including the 100% prize draw), you must:

Take out an eligible insurance policy through LifeDirect 2020 Limited
Have your quote issued through LifeDirect between 1 July 2026 and 31 August 2026 (NZST) inclusive
Have your application accepted and the policy in force by the insurer between 1 July 2026 and 31 August 2026 (NZST) inclusive
Meet all of the cashback conditions set out below

Eligible covers

The cashback applies to the first year's premiums for the following covers:

Life Insurance
Mortgage Repayment Insurance
Trauma Insurance
Income Protection Insurance

The cashback is calculated on the first 12 months' premium (excluding any policy fees) and is not calculated in subsequent years.

Health Insurance is not eligible for any cashback under this campaign.

What the 100% cashback prize draw is

10 winners will be selected at random from all eligible entries
Each winner will receive a cashback equal to 100% of their first year's premium on eligible covers, capped at $3,000 per winner
The 100% cashback replaces the standard 20% cashback for the 10 winners
Winners are not eligible to receive both the 20% and the 100% cashback

How winners are drawn

One entry per accepted application that is in force during the campaign window
Family applications count as one entry, regardless of how many lives are insured
The draw will be held within 7 days of the campaign window closing
The draw will be conducted at LifeDirect's offices and witnessed by two LifeDirect staff who are not part of the sales team
Winners will be notified within 5 working days of the draw using the contact details supplied in their application
LifeDirect's decision on all draw matters is final and no correspondence will be entered into

This is a pure chance prize draw under the New Zealand Fair Trading Act 1986. There is no entry fee and no skill component.

How and when the cashback is paid

This applies to both the standard 20% cashback and the 100% prize draw cashback.

The cashback is paid to you by LifeDirect as a one off lump sum and does not affect the regular premium you pay to your insurer
You must register for and log in to MyLifeDirect using the link we provide you when your policy gets underway and use the "claim my cashback" function. This will ask you to provide account details for the cashback to be paid into
The cashback will be paid in the calendar month following the month in which the policy has been in force for 13 months, provided you have claimed the cashback via MyLifeDirect within 13 months of your policy commencement date
The cashback will not be processed if your policy is currently in arrears or has been in arrears within the last month at the time of payment processing. Once the policy is no longer in arrears for at least one month, the payment will be processed

When no cashback is payable

No cashback (standard or prize draw) is payable if:

You are taking out an additional policy, or replacing an existing policy started through LifeDirect
You take out a policy through an independent financial adviser we have connected you with
You request another adviser outside of LifeDirect to be your Financial Adviser
The policy is for Health Insurance
Your policy is in arrears or has been in the previous month before cashback is payable

If you are replacing an existing policy with a policy from the same insurer, LifeDirect will only pay a cashback on any increase in premium on your new policy.

If your policy ends or changes within 24 months

If you cancel your policy, it lapses through non payment, or you change your servicing adviser within 24 months of your policy commencement date, you must return in full any cashback received to LifeDirect
If you decrease your cover amount within 24 months and LifeDirect has paid you a cashback, LifeDirect may request you repay the component of your cashback covering the decrease. This will be considered on a case by case basis depending on the circumstances

Use of winners' names for marketing

By entering this campaign, winners agree that LifeDirect may publish their first name, region, and the fact that they won the prize for marketing purposes, subject to the winner's written consent at the time of notification. Winners who do not provide consent will still receive their cashback in full.

Collection rights

LifeDirect reserves the right to take action against you, including (without limitation) the use of collection services, to recover any outstanding cashback debt. You are liable for all expenses (including legal fees) that LifeDirect incurs in collecting that debt.

Amendments and cancellation

LifeDirect reserves the right to amend these terms or cancel the campaign at any time for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons. Any change will be published on the campaign page at lifedirect.co.nz/terms-and-conditions/cashback-draw.aspx. Changes will not affect any cashback already accrued under these terms.
