LifeDirect’s year in review: What was new in 2023

As another intense year draws to a close, we took a moment to take stock of 2023. From tech advancements to community partnerships, let’s take a quick stroll down memory lane. This year…

We launched our new digital advice tool

At LifeDirect, we’ve always been huge fans of technology, and how it helps people explore their insurance options from the comfort of their homes. So in 2023, we decided to take a step forward by launching our brand-new digital advice tool – accessible here.

If you’re not quite sure which cover to opt for, our digital advice tool can recommend appropriate options based on your circumstances. It all starts by asking the right questions, from your job and housing situation through to your savings amounts. Then, the tool presents you with three tailored plans – a budget option, a goal option, and ultimate cover – to cater to your needs.

We partnered with Whanau Awhina Plunket

LifeDirect was born to help Kiwis from all walks of life financially secure the life they’re building. That’s why teaming up with Whanau Awhina Plunket felt like a natural fit. We know that welcoming a little one into the world is a life-changing event, one that comes with a new set of goals, aspirations, and responsibilities. So, we’re excited to be helping more and more young parents protect their families’ financial future.

We added business insurance and house & contents cover

Personal insurance is still at the heart of what we do, but in 2023, we’ve also broadened our horizons. Thanks to our collaboration with Bizcover and Initio, Kiwis can now get swift business insurance and house & contents insurance quotes directly through our platform.

  • House & Contents: Initio is a 100% online property insurance provider. Getting covered is straight-forward: you can get instant quotes, quickly set up your cover, and manage everything through their user-friendly dashboard. Want to compare how much you’re paying with how much you could be paying with Initio? Get your instant quote here. Of course, a word of caution: make sure you read the fine print and understand the difference between your current property insurance and the Initio insurance in terms of what’s covered and for how much. It’s important to make sure that you have the cover that is suitable for your needs; premium is only one of many considerations when determining the appropriate cover for you.
  • Business Insurance: If you own a business, you’ve most likely poured your heart, soul, and countless cups of coffee into building it. Your creation is worth protecting, and with so many options to consider, getting quotes from New Zealand’s leading insurers is a great place to start. You can use our quote compare tool here.

We started sponsoring NZ cricket

What better way to celebrate the Kiwi spirit than by supporting both the BLACKCAPS and the WHITE FERNS? If you’re a cricket lover, you have probably noticed our branding on the BLACKCAPS shirt for all internationals played in New Zealand, as well as the series in UAE, England, and Bangladesh. Needless to say, we’re absolutely thrilled to be working alongside both teams.

Let’s ride into another great year

As we look forward to what 2024 will bring, we’d like to thank all our clients for being part of our story. And cheers to many more innovations and partnerships in the future!
